Effective May 1, 2017, NIH will begin permitting access to data with an “Alzheimer’s disease only” data use limitation if the data access request includes research on Alzheimer’s disease or the ADRDs delineated above. Updating the definition of Alzheimer's disease used to establish data-sharing criteria will allow advancement of research on dementia-causing disease processes that are commonly embedded in and/or are difficult to distinguish from AD during life. This clarification will allow approved users of Alzheimer's disease genomic data to pursue research that is fully congruent with the...

The 2016 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) was held last month in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The annual conference gathers thousands of physicians, scholars, and advocates who work on Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related dementias (ADRD). The event had such a considerable local impact that banners for the conference appeared throughout Toronto Pearson International Airport, the downtown core, and the event even made...

Visit the newly enhanced GenomicsDB to access and search public NIAGADS GWAS summary statistics datasets. Our new search interface and improved presentation of gene and SNP information make it easier than ever to identify AD-relevant variants. Take advantage of new features, such as pathway and functional enrichment analysis tools and co-location searches to interpret and integrate search results. This release also makes available 72 additional datasets, including GWAS summary statistics for NG00040: summary statistics from a multi-ethnic exome array study to identify low-frequency coding...
